Hey gal pals! We are back and better than ever! Did you notice our recent make over? We are obsessed with our new look and hope you are too.
Over the last year (we turned ONE on August 1st … yay! Happy Birthday to US!) we learned a few more things about our FAVOURITE drink (besides wine) … coffee!
Sip, sip, hor – wait! Is drinking all this coffee okay? Adulting can be hard… between work, family, finances, ensuring you’re keeping up with your social life and the latest trends, etc. – and most of us turn to our lovely friend “coffee” to get us through it all! Sometimes we tend to over indulge…because heck it keeps us sane, awake and not to mention it taste like heaven.
BUT when is too much TOO MUCH? and is what we’re drinking okay for our bodies?
Well we have great news for you – after some research we have come up with a few ways in which coffee benefits our skin and overall health!
Huge source of antioxidants!
Believe it or not coffee possesses a large amount of antioxidants which can improve your health and reduce the risks of several diseases. Liver Disease, Heart Disease, Alzheimer’s and Type II Diabetes are a just a few to name.
While drinking a cup … or 3, can give you that internal boost it is also a genius ingredient in many beauty regimes! The antioxidants found in coffee are also great contributors to a glowing complexion. Coffee has anti-inflammatory properties… this is great for those sudden breakouts and flare ups and those mornings when lack of sleep is written in those puffy eyes. The caffeine and various compounds like methylxanthine in coffee have a diuretic effect which helps in reducing swollen tissues because of the excess water retention – interesting right?!
Those finely ground beans found in your morning java can revive your dull skin and increase your circulation by acting as a great exfoliator for both the face and the rest of your body.
